January 13th, 2005Rochambo Coffee and Tea House Milwaukee, WI
This performance is from 20 years ago today, January 13th, 2005.This is my set from a Songwriters of Milwaukee night. There were around 5 singer-songwriters in the showcase that night. And the multi-talented Sandy Weisto did a great job on the sound for us.Rochambo, which is still around as of this writing, is a rather large coffee/tea house, they didn't typically have live music and not everyone was there for our showcase, but there was a large group of enthusiastic folks who were there just for the show. Fun time and great memories. This was just over two weeks before I moved to Las Vegas and gets mentioned in a book I wrote about that time called Ad Libitum.I was playing several times a week around this time. "If I were the last man on earth" and "This land is no man's land" are here, "Wicked ways" which I had done with The Tumbling Dice makes the set. And there are a couple tunes which are only on here. "Playing with your heart" eventually became "Maggie's Farm Again" and this is the one and only time I played "Consumer's Lullaby", hearing it now, I guess I might appreciate it more than I did at the time, in fact I never really settled on a name for it until now.By show's end temperatures had dove into the teens with 25 mph winds for my walk home just a few blocks away.
